The Calamities are Coming, are You Ready?


If the heavy rain continued pouring as predicted, it is possible that what happened in Iligan and Cagayan de Oro could also happen in Isabel. If that happens (God forbid), is our town ready enough to face the challenge? Are we ready ourselves? A lot of infrastructures and expensive establishments would be demolished. Are we all ready to put back those pieces together and stand up again? Many people would die. Are we ready to accept that some of those cold bodies recovered could be our friends or relatives? It is unpleasant and beyond morbid to think of it but that is the worst thing that could happen to us. Unlike in realities shows in TV, no one has the immunity in terms of calamity. We need to be ready for it! On how, I still do not know! I don’t think I’m ready myself.

Iligan City and Cagayan De Oro City – Wrecked by Tropical Storm Sendong

I got unpleasant chills when I saw the pictures of some familiar places in Iligan City and Cagayan de Oro City, Philippines being wrecked by the tropical storm Sendong. I saw them posted in Facebook. As of this writing, 180 people died and almost 400 people are missing in Iligan. According to the military spokesperson of the region, only 75 dead bodies were recovered in Cagayan de Oro City. 125 people are still missing. That was very horrible!
